The part of the Lindis Pass on State Highway 8 that was closed following a fatal crash has reopened.
Police say two vehicles crashed head-on at about 1.30pm on Thursday.
One man was killed and three people were flown to Dunedin Hospital.
The road was closed for about four hours.
