A woman's body was found in a fire west of Huntly on Thursday night.
Volunteer fire fighters were called to a scrub fire on Hangapipi Rd in Rotowaro. Instead they found a body in the flames by the roadside about 10pm on Thursday.
Huntly chief fire officer Craig Bush says the body was not close to any outbuildings or other structures and only the area directly around it was affected by fire.
Police are appealing for help to identify the woman.
