Decision delayed by ACCC on bedding company move

6:48 pm on 21 January 2011

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is delaying a decision on plans by a New Zealand company to buy two Australian bedding and foams businesses.

Sleepyhead, owned by the Auckland-based Turner family, proposes to buy the two companies from Pacific Brands.

But the ACCC says it needs more information on competition issues in the foam market.

Its final decision is delayed until 24 February.
