A slow-moving low is set to bring heavy rain to the upper North Island this weekend.
MetService says there will be persistent and heavy rain about Northland, Coromandel and Gisborne on Saturday evening.
Overnight and during Sunday, heavy rain is expected to spread as far south as Hawke's Bay.
