A 19-year-old man has been arrested after an armed offenders callout in the Canterbury town of Temuka.
Police say a woman was stabbed in the face in Whitcombe Street just before midday on Monday.
Armed police negotiated with the alleged attacker, who agreed to surrender. The man is expected to face charges.
The woman's injuries are not considered serious.
