Police are investigating the death of a man on a cycle track in Auckland.
He was found at about 1am on Thursday, near the north western motorway in Kingsland.
Ambulance staff were unable to revive him and he died at the scene.
Senior Sergeant Matt Rogers says the man, a Pakeha, was in his mid to late 30s. He has not yet been formally identified, but they have now ruled out that he was a cyclist.
A postmortem is to be held.
Bond Street is now open to traffic again, but part of the footpath is still taped off to allow a scene examination to be carried out.
