A cyclist was impaled by the handlebars on her cycle after she was hit by a four wheel drive vehicle near Hastings on Friday morning.
The woman, 45, was hit on the corner of St Hill Lane and Napier Road. She was taken to Hawke's Bay hospital in a critical condition.
