A toddler has drowned at Waiwera hot pools north of Auckland.
Emergency services were called to the scene at just before 1pm on Saturday.
The police say the two and half year old girl had been with a family group and she appears to have entered a 1.6 metre deep pool without being seen.
The alarm was raised by another swimmer but lifeguards were unable to resuscitate her.
The little girl's death has been referred to the Coroner.
