Egypt travel warning stays in place

5:00 pm on 12 February 2011

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says there is no indication that the situation in Egypt has made travel safer, so there's no change to its travel advisory notice.

Notwithstanding President Hosni Mubarak's resignation, the ministry is continuing to advise New Zealand citizens against all travel to Egypt. Those who choose to go are advised to adhere to curfews and avoid protest areas.

Mr Mubarak stood down on Friday after 18 days of sustained protest.
