Patient care won't suffer - Timaru DHB

1:03 pm on 15 February 2011

South Canterbury District Health Board says patient care will not suffer as a result of a target to reduce hospital admissions by 200 per year.

DHB chairman Murray Cleverley says historically Timaru hospital has been over-cautious, admitting more patients per capita than other DHBs.

Mr Cleverley says while the target may not be achieved this year, he says he would like to see the number of hospital admissions declining.
