The first two days of the national kapa haka championships near Gisborne have produced what's described as exceptional performing.
Twenty-eight teams have taken the stage so far at Waiohika estate near Gisborne and another 14 are set to do so on Saturday - including the champions, Te Waka Huia, from Auckland.
Nine teams will be selected for the finals on Sunday.
About 15,000 spectators have been at the first two days of the event.
