The search an elderly man reported missing will resume on the Kapiti Coast on Tuesday morning.
Trevor Mann, 75, set out to walk in the Hemi Matenga Memorial Park in Waikanae at about 8pm on Monday but has not returned.
He is described as being of medium build with grey hair and a moustache, and is likely to be wearing shorts, a T-shirt and jacket, tramping boots and a cap.
Police are asking those living between Belvedere Avenue and the park to check their properties in case Mr Mann has fallen and needs help.
