Police resume search for murder weapon

6:24 pm on 8 March 2011

Police have resumed a search in the Wellington suburb of Johnsonville for a weapon used to kill a local man.

Matthew Hall was found by his flatmate after being stabbed to death in his Broderick Road home with what police describe as a large serrated knife.

Officers spent the weekend looking for the knife but bad weather stopped the search.

It began again on Tuesday morning and should be completed by this evening.

Police say they have found several items of interest, which are undergoing forensic examination.
