Police in Napier have released the name of a 12-year-old boy who died after his bicycle and a van collided in Taradale on Wednesday morning.
He was Joshua Paul Bennie, a student at Taradale Intermediate School.
The St John ambulance service says the crash happened on Guppy Rd at just after 8am. Paramedics performed CPR on Joshua but were unable to revive him.
Police say investigations are continuing and Victim Support is speaking to family members, witnesses and the school.
