A woman charged with the abuse of her nine-year-old daughter has been committed to the High Court for trial.
The woman's lawyer tried to argue for a time extension in Waitakere District Court in Auckland but was turned down by the Judge.
The woman, whose name is suppressed, faces 33 charges.
She is yet to enter a plea.
The Government announced an independent inquiry into the case in January.
The woman's lawyers have been told they can continue to try to resolve the charges even though they have been transferred to the High Court.
She will appear again on 11 May.
