Police in Hamilton are searching for a 19-year-old man who is believed to be armed.
They say an arrest warrant has been issued for Tukino Te Rangi, who is a known methamphetamine user.
A police helicopter from Auckland was used in the search for him overnight.
The Armed Offenders Squad is also assisting.
Police are asking Mr Te Rangi and his girlfriend Laurissa Tukaki, who is also wanted by police, to give themselves up.
