A retrial has been ordered for a man found guilty of fatally beating an 80-year-old woman at her South Auckland home.
Olinale Ah You was jailed for life with a minimum non-parole period of 20 years after a jury found him guilty of the murder of Yan Ping Yang in Manurewa last year.
However, the Court of Appeal on Monday quashed his conviction and ordered a retrial.
No date has been set for the new trial and the Court of Appeal has suppressed its reasons for ordering it.
