A fire on a train bound for Wellington has caused delays for passengers.
The Fire Service says the engine of a Tranz Metro train caught fire during its journey from Kapiti to Wellington on Wednesday afternoon.
The blaze was extinguished and not considered serious.
Tranz Metro says services are running 20 minutes late and normal service should resume by 7pm.
