All Blacks 'unlikely' to play Japan in charity match

The All Blacks are unlikely to play a charity rugby match against Japan to raise funds for the victims of the Christchurch and Japan earthquakes, team manager Darren Shand says.

Former All Blacks winger John Kirwan, who now coaches Japan, raised the possibility earlier this week.

However, Mr Shand says the All Blacks' timetable is too tight.

The New Zealand Rugby Union announced last week that the All Blacks would play a fundraiser game for Christchurch ahead of the Tri-Nations competition, with the opposition and venue yet to be confirmed.

Mr Shand says fitting in a second fundraiser match is unlikely.
