One person has died after an accident on a rural Waikato road on Monday morning.
Police say a car was overtaken by a ute on Gillard Rd in Ngahinapouri at 7.47am. They say the car went over a creek and then crashed, trapping the driver who died at the scene.
The ute ended up on its side in the creek and the driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The crash is being investigated by the Waikato Serious Crash Unit.
