The police say a person of interest in relation to the violent death of a Johnsonville man has died.
Matthew Hall was stabbed to death in bed at his Broderick Rd home in February.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton says the person of interest to the police investigation was hit by a train on 5 March.
He says the police are limited in what they can say, as it is now a case for the coroner.
The homicide investigation into Mr Hall's death is continuing.
