Police have arrested and charged a man with the murder of Feilding farmer Scott Guy.
The 30-year-old man from Feilding was arrested on Thursday and will appear in the Palmerston North District Court on Friday.
Mr Guy, 31, was shot and killed in the driveway of his home in Aorangi Road early on 8 July last year.
The arrested man has also been charged with arson and criminal damage relating to incidents at Mr Guy's property in October 2008 and January 2009.
A second man, also from Feilding, has been charged in relation to the arson and criminal damage and has appeared in court in Otago.
The 21-year-old man has not been charged in relation to Mr Guy's killing.
Police say no one else is being sought in connection with the killing and the Guy family has been told of the arrests.
Manawatu Mayor Ian McKelvie says he hopes the arrest will bring a resolution for the family.
Local Federated Farmers' vice-president Andrew Hoggard says the community had started to lose hope an arrest would ever be made but now can rest a bit easier.
