A Rotorua man has been arrested after an Armed Offenders Squad callout.
Police say the man allegedly man threats while in the city's central business district to harm himself on Wednesday morning.
They say due to the nature of the threats, armed police were sent to his home at Kawaha Point.
His property in Grand Vue Road was cordoned off and the man was taken into custody without incident.
Police say 15 officers were involved.
