Police in Wellington are warning motorists to drive carefully after about 10 weather related crashes in the area on Saturday.
No one has been injured or killed in any of the crashes.
Inspector Marty Parker says several of the crashes have been nose to tails, and he asks motorists to drive to the wet conditions.
He says State Highway 58 was closed by a crash on Saturday afternoon but is now open.
