A woman charged with attempted murder in Christchurch at the weekend has been remanded in custody for psychiatric assessment.
The judge suppressed all details of the case when the woman made a brief appearance in Rangiora District Court on Monday.
The woman was in a distressed state, as were family members and friends in the public gallery.
She will reappear in court on 2 May.
