Bad weather delays Cook Strait crossing

Bad weather delayed the sailing of a Bluebridge-operated ferry from Wellington on Wednesday afternoon.

The Straitsman was due to leave at 1pm but left about 3.30pm, and is expected in Picton about 7pm.

About 120 of the passengers on board also missed a crossing in the morning after another vessel, the Santa Regina, was damaged.

That ferry is undergoing repairs after it struck the side of an old fishing boat while berthing at Glasgow Wharf in Wellington on Tuesday night.
