A missing 9-year-old girl was found safe and well in the Lower Hutt suburb of Wainuiomata on Monday morning.
Veetia Vaculik-Hamilton had left her home in the Lower Hutt suburb of Wainuiomata for a walk at about 2pm on Sunday.
She had been last seen walking into Arakura School on Wellington Road.
Police say she was located at Mohaka Street at about 11:40am on Monday, and was upset, cold and tired after spending a night outside and was taken to hospital for observation.
Veetia was found by builders who heard her calling for help from up a tree.
More than 40 people were involved in an overnight search for the missing girl.
