Contractors have had to clear slips on several roads in Northland on Monday after a weekend of heavy rain and high winds.
Parts of the region, including Kaeo and the hills north of Whangarei, had 100mm of rain and winds gusted up to 130 km/h.
The storm brought trees down onto power lines in some areas. Lines workers spent Sunday night finding and fixing one fault near Kara, south of Whangarei, where the power was off for 10 hours.
Kaeo River levels rose to near-flood levels overnight on Sunday, but residents say rain had eased on Monday.
