A father-of-two died has when his vehicle crashed through a fence and rolled down a bank in the Lower Hutt suburb of Kelson.
Wellington police say the man's four wheel drive plunged 200 metres down a bank in thick bush on Friday.
Wellington Free Ambulance were called to the Kaitangata Crescent property at 9am and say their paramedics found the man in a serious condition.
The ambulance service say he appeared to have been thrown from the vehicle. Paramedics tried to save him but he died at the scene.
