Despite missing injured All Blacks Richie McCaw and Dan Carter, the Crusaders have toppled South African Super Rugby conference leaders the Stormers.

Prop Wyatt Crockett scored both the Crusader's tries in their 20-14 win in Capetown on Sunday. The Crusaders trailed 10-11 at half time.

The South African side the Sharks have run in four second half tries to seal a 34-16 win over Australia's ACT Brumbies in their Super rugby match in Durban.

Trailing 16-6 at halftime, the hosts scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to secure their seventh win in 11 matches and move to within four points of the Stormers.

The Highlanders' play off hopes suffered a double blow in a 20 - 7 loss to the Chiefs in Hamilton on Saturday.

Converted second half tries from Brendan Leonard and Liam Messum and two Stephen Donald penalties in the first half secured the win for the home side, which kept the Highlanders scoreless in the second half.

The Highlanders' campaign suffered a further setback with loose forward Adam Thompson forced from the field at half time with an apparent rib injury.

The Chiefs still have a faint chance of making the playoffs having registered just their fourth win in 11 games.
