Police have been searching a property near to where Feilding farmer Scott Guy was killed.
Mr Guy was shot in the driveway of his home in the early hours of 8 July last year.
His brother-in-law, Ewen Macdonald, was in April charged with his murder.
Police spokesperson Kim Perks says farmland in Aorangi Road, near the Guy home, has been searched as part of the ongoing investigation.
She was unable to say what officers were looking for as the case is before the courts.
During his initial court appearance Mr MacDonald's lawyer, Greg King, said the killing remains unsolved and that his client denies any involvement.
The four-bedroom rural property where Scott Guy lived with his wife is now listed for sale on a property website.
