A woman hit by a vehicle in central Hamilton on Wednesday afternoon has died in Waikato Hospital.
The woman, 91, was crossing the north end of Victoria Street in peak traffic at 4.45pm on her way to catch a bus, when she was struck by a car.
Inspector Leo Tooman says elderly people need to realise that the safest way to cross the street is at controlled intersections or pedestrian crossings.
