A man charged with threatening to kill the Prime Minister has appeared in court and been remanded on bail.

Keith William Mabey, 21, appeared before a registrar in the Palmerston North District Court on Thursday. He represented himself.

Mr Mabey entered no plea to the charge of threatening to kill John Key on 18 April.

Police Minister Judith Collins said last week that an arrest had been made in relation to a threat against Mr Key.

Mr Mabey also faces three other charges, relating to different days, of intentional damage, driving while forbidden and dangerous driving.

He is also charged with breaching parole conditions and will reappear on 25 May.
