A man has been arrested following a three-hour stand-off with police on Auckland's North Shore.
The 48-year-old failed to appear in court on a charge on Wednesday and refused to come out of his home in Birkdale, barricading himself inside the ceiling.
The Armed Offenders Squad was called out and three neighbouring homes evacuated.
Officers threw tear-gas into the house before entering the house.
The man is to appear in North Shore District Court on Thursday.
