A former nurse who went to prison for indecencies committed against a boy in a public hospital has been removed from the nurses' register.
The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal also censured and fined Tauranga man Te Mahara Ruhe in a decision released on Wednesday.
The offences occurred at Tauranga Hospital on three occasions in 1984 and 1985.
Ruhe was convicted in 2008, but has not worked as a nurse since 1988.
The tribunal says it has removed Ruhe from the register of enrolled nurses and fined him $1500 in costs.
