A blanket of thick fog caused disruption for thousands of passengers trying to travel to or from Auckland Airport on Tuesday.
Most domestic flights to and from the region were cancelled or delayed by poor visibility during the morning.
A small number of international flights were also affected.
All of Air New Zealand's regional link flights through Auckland were delayed.
By early afternoon, normal services were resuming.
Air New Zealand said passengers were being put on the next available flight.
The airport company said people should check with their airline or the airport's website for details.
