Three private sector consortia have been short-listed for the first public private partnership to build a primary and a secondary school in Auckland.

They are: Building Futures Group, with Mainzeal doing the construction, Future Education with Arrow, and Learning Infrastructure Partners, which has Hawkins taking the lead on construction.

The public private partnership will cover the actual building of the schools and maintenance for the next 25 years.

Final bids will be submitted in September this year.

The new primary is scheduled to open at the start of 2013, with the secondary school due to open a year later.
