Police in Wellington are calling for a witness in an attempted abduction and robbery to come forward.
A woman, 18, was approached by two men in the city while walking home at about 6.20am on Saturday.
Detective Sergeant Shane Dye says one of the men tried to drag her to a maroon coloured vehicle, while the other attempted to take her handbag.
But the woman used her karate experience to get away.
A witness who walked past the woman is asked to contact police.
