The amount for those on paid parental leave will increase by $17 a week, before tax, from 1 July.
The rate is adjusted each year to help keep pace with average earnings.
The maximum weekly payment will go up from $441.62 to $458.82.
The minimum payment for self-employed parents will increase from $127.50 to $130 a week.
Eligible parents are entitled to 14 weeks of paid leave, with the rate calculated on the basis of their annual weekly earnings.
