Measles warning for Auckand movie-goers

5:57 pm on 1 June 2011

Auckland health officials are warning movie-goers at a screening last Saturday they could be at risk of measles.

A child who saw the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides at 10.50am at a cinema at the Westfield St Lukes shopping centre has been confirmed as having measles.

Several more children are being checked.

The Auckland Regional Public Health Service says other people who were at the same screening could be at risk of the highly infectious disease if they are not immunised.
