MetService is forecasting wet weather over Queen's Birthday weekend for much of New Zealand.
A band of wind and rain over Northland and Auckland on Friday evening is moving south-eastward and will cover northern and western parts of the North and South Islands by Saturday morning.
MetService weather ambassador Bob McDavitt says the rain will move into the east of the North Island during Saturday and heavy rain warnings are in place for Bay of Plenty and Gisborne.
From Sunday afternoon, the rain should clear until another front arrives in the west of the country on Monday night.
