Police in Northland are hunting for a man who escaped from the Whangarei District Court.
Aaron Stephen Forden, 29, was appearing on violence and dishonesty charges and fled from a secure interview room on Friday.
Police say after his lawyer left the room, he forced a bar from the grille and escaped.
Aaron Forden is described as European, with short red hair and a goatee beard.
He was last seen wearing a black long sleeved jacket and T-shirt, with black jeans and shoes.
Police say he has ties to Northland and Auckland and should not be approached.
