New Zealand Cricket revamps selection panel

3:45 pm on 8 June 2011

New Zealand Cricket is introducing a two-member national selection panel.

Black Caps coach John Wright and a yet to be appointed national selection manager will be responsible for selecting the side.

The change means incumbents Glenn Turner and Lance Cairns are no longer on the panel.

Former Black Caps coach Mark Greatbatch will fill the manager's role on an interim basis.

He will also oversee the selection of the 20 national contracted players for the next year.

New Zealand Cricket says John Wright will be given responsibility for final team selection.
