73-year-old prisoner again denied parole

One of the country's longest-serving prisoners has again been denied parole as an official report says his chances of release look bleak.

Alf Vincent, 73, has spent 44 years in jail. The Parole Board says he has an enormous history of sexual offending.

Vincent has confessed to abusing more than one hundred children in the past, and has 13 convictions for the crimes.

At a parole hearing in late May, he declined to put forward a release proposal.

The Board says Vincent is pleasant, well-dressed, alert, happy and keeping well in prison, where he works in a nursery.

But his latest psychological report puts him at high reoffending risk, and says it appears increasingly unlikely that Vincent will be released.
