Water back on in Bluff

7:15 am on 11 June 2011

The water supply is back on in Bluff township, with the exception of the South Port area, but residents are still being asked to restrict their water use.

Invercargill City Council water manager Alister Murray says a burst pipe cut the supply to the township on Friday.

He says staff believe they have isolated the problem in the South Port area but residents are asked to be sparing with their water use for the time being.

"People can flush toilets and carry out normal household functions," Mr Murray says, "but we ask that they are mindful about water use for the next 24 hours."
