Food prices rose in May, led by higher fruit and vegetable as well as meat, poultry and fish prices.
Official figures show prices rose 0.5% for the month.
On an annual basis, food prices have increased 7.4%.
The food price index makes up 17.4% of the Consumer Price Index.
