Power restored to Hutt homes after crash

6:08 am on 20 June 2011

Power has been restored to several households in the Hutt Valley after being cut when a car smashed into a power pole.

Police say one person was injured but not seriously in the crash on Eastern Hutt Road just before six on Sunday morning.

Wellington Electricity Lines says work to replace the pole took several hours, and power wasn't fully restored until just before 12.30.

The homes affected were in the Taita area, mainly in the immediate vicinity of the crash.
