About $850,000 of taxpayer money has been spent in a state house eviction fight with three women linked to the Mongrel Mob.

Housing New Zealand has been trying to get the women to leave Farmer Crescent in the Lower Hutt suburb of Pomare since a spate of gang intimidation in early 2009.

The case has been heard in four different courts and is to go before the Human Rights Review Tribunal on Monday.

Figures obtained under the Official Information Act show Housing New Zealand has paid lawyers $528,320.

The state housing provider has spent $328,380 on security in the neighbourhood.
