There has been a serious crash on State Highway 1 at Raumati, near Wellington.
Police say the crash involves a horse float and a car and one person is trapped on Tuesday morning.
There are diversions in place for north-bound traffic and south-bound traffic is down to one lane.
Emergency services are at the scene.
