Vettori takes break from short-form cricket

Former New Zealand cricket captain Daniel Vettori has confirmed that he will be taking an indefinite break from one day cricket and Twenty20 Internationals in an effort to prolong his career.

The 32-year old all-rounder says he remains keen to add to his 105 Tests.

Vettori says his reason for taking a break from the shorter forms of the game is primarily so he can preserve his body and continue to represent his country in Test cricket.

If all goes well, he hopes to take up one day cricket again in the next couple of years and make the Black Caps World Cup team for 2015.
